This is my take on an ongoing Chinese novel by an unknown author. I've never been much of a reader when it comes to lengthy novels, but as soon as I delved into this tale, I was hooked like a fanatic. And I can't seem to stop. Unfortunately, the English version I was following only released three chapters a day, and my appetite for the story was insatiable. So, I decided to take matters into my own hands and started translating the Chinese text myself. Along the way, I've tried to inject some context into it because Google's translation tends to be too literal.

I've used different names for characters in my translations since they're a result of my own artistic interpretation. I began my translations from Chapter 967, which was posted in a different discussion thread. My aim is to tackle at least 100 chapters a week. However, as much as I love translating and reading this novel, I make sure to reserve my weekends for my family and friends – they're the ones who matter most to me.

The reason for this new thread is that during my two days off, some talented translators have continued where I left off. Their work is already shared and posted in my previous thread. This is fantastic news for readers looking for weekend reads. To avoid any confusion, I decided to create a new thread where I can upload and continue my translations. I'm doing all of this out of love for the story and the enjoyment I get from the process; it makes me feel like I'm a part of the narrative.

For those who are new to this, the best translations are provided by Muhindi Wa Kuchoma, and they are the work of the legendary translator Marina Vitori.

This is the tale of a prince, a legendary Kirin known as Logan Rhys. His life underwent a dramatic change a decade ago when his mother met a mysterious and untimely demise. Fueled by a relentless pursuit of truth, justice, and vengeance, he abandoned his royal palace and adopted the guise of a commoner, going by the name Dustin Rhys. The once-arrogant young prince transformed into a timid and soft-spoken individual, making him an easy target for bullies.

During these ten years, Logan secretly honed his skills and strength, undergoing a profound transformation. However, a recent divorce from his wife, Dahlia Nicholson, after three years of marriage, coupled with a series of life-altering events, pushed him back into action. Slowly but surely, he began to shed his timid persona, reemerging as the formidable figure he once was.

Join us as we follow the journey of Dustin, or Logan, as he strives to surpass, outmaneuver, and overpower entire armies and kingdoms, all through his own determination and bare hands.

CHAPTER 2700: "THE RELUCTANT GUARDIAN OF THE DRAGON VEIN"

"Me?"

Hearing this, Dustin froze for a moment before waving his hands frantically. "Elder Heavenly Master, you must be joking! How could I have the ability to guard the Dragon Vein? You’d better pick someone else!"

This wasn’t just any hot potato—it was a molten boulder. Guarding the Dragon Vein wasn’t like keeping an eye on a backyard. A single slip-up wouldn’t just harm him but could affect all of Dragon Tiger Mountain and even the entirety of the Dragonmarsh.

The pressure was unimaginable, and he didn’t have the shoulders to carry it.

"Don’t be in such a hurry to refuse."

Phantom chuckled, his expression calm. "Guarding the Dragon Vein comes with many benefits. First, the Dragon Vein has a spirit. If you can connect with it, your cultivation will soar by leaps and bounds. Your lifespan will also extend significantly. With the fortune of the Dragon Vein protecting you, you’ll be invincible—no one in the world will stand a chance against you."

He wasn’t exaggerating. If someone earned the Dragon Vein's recognition and became its guardian, they could channel its energy, achieving harmony between heaven and earth.

In simple terms: the realm of immortals that ordinary people dreamed of.

A year ago, had Spike Lourd fought Bladeheart near the Serpentsteel Royal Guardians, the outcome of their life-or-death battle might have been entirely different.

"Elder Heavenly Master, to be honest," Dustin said with a wry smile, "I’m just not cut out for this. I prefer a carefree life and really can’t shoulder such a heavy responsibility. As for skyrocketing cultivation or a longer life, I don’t have much interest in that either."

The stronger the power, the greater the responsibility.

He cherished his freedom, unburdened and untethered. Agreeing to guard the Dragon Vein would be like building himself a cage, no matter how gilded.

He simply wasn’t enlightened enough for that kind of sacrifice.

"It’s fine. If you truly don’t wish to, I won’t force you. But if you ever change your mind, you’re welcome to come find me." Phantom maintained his gentle smile.

This competition might have been designed to select a guardian for the Dragon Vein, but such a role depended largely on individual willingness.

If Dustin wasn’t willing, Phantom wouldn’t pressure him.

Some things relied on fate. When the time was right, everything would naturally fall into place.

"Thank you, Elder Heavenly Master, for your understanding."

Dustin let out a quiet sigh of relief.

He had genuinely been worried that rejecting the offer might anger the Elder Heavenly Master, who would then snatch back the precious orb filled with Dragon's Energy Spirals.

But clearly, someone like Phantom, transcending worldly attachments, wouldn’t stoop to coercion or underhanded tactics.

That would be beneath him.

"Kid, if you’re not busy, stay here tonight. I have some matters to attend to, so I’ll be heading off."

After a bit more casual conversation, Phantom stood up and left, leaving Dustin alone in his thoughts.

CHAPTER 2701: THE WEIGHT OF A LEGEND

“Farewell to the Elder Heavenly Master!”

Dustin cupped his hands respectfully, bowing as the figure departed.

Only after the Elder Heavenly Master disappeared into the distance did he exhale deeply, finally letting go of the tension that had gripped him.

Though Phantom had shown no airs of superiority, emitted no oppressive aura, and carried himself with remarkable warmth, there was something inexplicably heavy about being in his presence. Sitting next to him felt like standing on the edge of a cliff—every breath measured, every movement deliberate.

As expected, the world’s sole living "Earthly Immortal" was far from ordinary.

Once the Dragon's Energy Spirals was safely stowed away, Dustin bid his own farewell. He had already warned Dragon Tiger Mountain of potential schemes by the Pantheon. With that warning, the sect should be sufficiently prepared for any underhanded plots.

Still, to ensure there were no loose ends, he planned to seek out Fatin and probe further. Who knew what other tricks the Pantheon might have up their sleeve?

When Dustin finally returned to the inn, he was greeted by a lively, celebratory scene. Gabrielle had been waiting for him and had gone all out, arranging an extravagant feast with a familiar group of faces gathered at the table.

There were the Moore sisters, Lara and Liana, the Morris sisters, Emerald and Ruby, as well as Kieran and Ulysses, among others.

Although they hailed from different sects, their purpose today was singular—to celebrate Dustin's victory.

“Brother Dustin, congratulations! What a spectacular achievement!” Kieran was the first to raise his hands in a respectful salute, his grin wide.

“Senior Brother Dustin, your performance today was nothing short of astounding. Truly admirable!” Emerald’s face shone with genuine admiration.

“Dustin, I never imagined you were this incredible. From now on, your name will echo throughout the martial world!” Ruby chimed in with a teasing smile.

“Of course! Brother Dustin is now the undisputed number one on the Whiz List, having even defeated Billy! Tell me, who could possibly match him?” Ulysses added, his flattery as smooth as silk.

“Ah, you flatter me,” Dustin said with a humble smile, cupping his hands in return to acknowledge each one. “Come, everyone, have a seat! Tonight, it’s on me—eat and drink to your heart’s content!”

As everyone settled down, the atmosphere grew even livelier.

“Senior Brother Dustin, now that you’re the martial tournament champion and an honorary guest of the World Society, I hope you’ll look out for us in the future,” Lara said with a dazzling smile.

Her radiant beauty, combined with a natural charm that could rival spring blossoms, carried a magnetic allure.

“Dustin, are you accepting disciples? I’d like to be your student!” Liana wasted no time cutting to the chase, boldly leveraging the opportunity to forge a closer connection.

The Moore sisters had already consulted with their father, Darkbane, and learned the truth about Dustin's identity.

Their father’s instructions were clear: do whatever it takes to win him over—even if it meant offering themselves in marriage.

After all, a young man like Dustin, blessed with striking looks, unmatched cultivation, and infinite potential, was a dream partner. Now it was up to the two sisters to see if they could successfully tie Dustin to the great ship that was the World Society.

The festive air was infectious, but beneath the surface, Dustin couldn’t help but sense the weight of expectations. As to whether he’d accept their advances or chart his own path, that was a question only time would answer.
Oh my all hail the IMMMORTAL OF Virgin Sect one only Dustin. I don’t think he will ever bed a women in this novel. This is so frustrating….hahaha

CHAPTER 2702: BEHIND THE TOASTS AND SCHEMES

---

“Miss Moore, please don’t joke around. With so many experts in World Society, how could it possibly be my turn to accept a disciple?” Dustin smiled politely, his tone carrying a subtle refusal. “Of course, we’re all friends here. If there’s anything you’d like to discuss regarding martial arts in the future, feel free to exchange pointers anytime.”

“Alright then, but if I come to you for advice, you better not turn me away!” Liana winked playfully, her eyes sparkling with mischief.

She hadn’t been serious about the whole "discipleship" thing. It was just an excuse—a way to get closer to Dustin under the guise of seeking guidance. Now, with a valid reason for future interactions, her objective was as good as accomplished.

As everyone took their seats, the atmosphere became lively. Drinks flowed, and conversations danced across a myriad of topics. The two Moore sisters, seated near Dustin, exchanged subtle glances and flirtatious smiles throughout the banquet, their intentions as clear as day to anyone paying attention.

Dustin, however, maintained his polite demeanor. Any attempts at intimacy from the sisters were either skillfully deflected or tactfully ignored. He knew exactly what game they were playing. The Moore family had their eyes on him ever since his championship victory had catapulted his name into the spotlight. The World Society saw this as a prime opportunity to strengthen ties with him.

As an honorary guest elder, Dustin held a nominal position in the organization. But to truly bind him to their cause—whether as an elder or, better yet, as the son-in-law of their leader—was an entirely different matter.

However, Dustin had no interest in these schemes. He had only agreed to the honorary position out of respect for Gabrielle. Becoming a full member of World Society? Absolutely out of the question. He wasn’t about to let himself be used as someone else’s pawn.

The banquet eventually came to an end, with the guests departing one by one. Once everyone had left, Dustin returned to his room and placed a jade box containing the coveted Dragon's Energy Spirals on the table.

The room had barely settled into silence when a shadow flitted through the window with ghostly precision. A figure landed lightly on the floor—a young woman clad in plain green robes, her delicate features as clear and sharp as a painting.

It was none other than Gabrielle, expertly disguised.

“You’re here? Have a seat,” Dustin said with a smile, pouring two cups of tea and sliding one across the table.

During the banquet, he had discreetly signaled to Gabrielle for a private meeting.

“Thank you.” Gabrielle took the tea with a faint smile but couldn’t help glancing at the jade box on the table. “So, this is the reward you got from Dragon Tiger Mountain?”

“Exactly. Care to guess what’s inside?” Dustin leaned back, a playful glint in his eyes.

“Oh, playing mysterious again, are we? Let me think… could it be Dragon's Energy Spirals?” Gabrielle arched an elegant eyebrow, her tone half-teasing.

Dustin blinked, momentarily taken aback. “Wow! You really are a mind reader. How’d you figure it out?”

When she had correctly guessed the reinforced elixir gifted by the Pantheon before, he had already been impressed. Now, her immediate deduction of the box’s contents left him genuinely astonished.

“Just a lucky guess,” Gabrielle replied, her tone nonchalant, but a trace of pride lingered in her expression.

Dustin shook his head, chuckling as he pushed the box closer. “Well, let’s see how accurate your guess really is…”

CHAPTER 2703: THE DRAGON’S VEIN

"Nothing too surprising," Gabrielle said with a faint smile. "We both know the forbidden grounds of Dragon Tiger Mountain have produced a treasure, likely the fabled Energy Spirals."

She paused, her eyes gleaming with admiration. "And Phantom, with his near-prophetic foresight, must have deduced your identity and intent. Using the championship reward as a guise to gift you the Energy Spirals? It’s a win-win situation."

“Smart,” Dustin said, tilting his chin toward the jade box. “Open it and see.”

Without hesitation, Gabrielle obliged, her hands steady yet curious. But the moment the box revealed its contents, her expression froze. Her delicate features, usually calm, were now painted with sheer astonishment.

"I... I’m not seeing things, am I? Three Dragon's Energy Spirals?"

Her wide eyes darted between Dustin and the box as if struggling to process what lay before her.

Though she’d suspected the reward might be an Energy Spiral, the reality of obtaining three at once was beyond her wildest imagination.

“Unbelievable!” she exclaimed. “What kind of blessed land is Dragon Tiger Mountain to draw in not one, but three strands of Dragon's Energy Spirals?”

"Well?" Dustin leaned against the wall, a playful smirk on his lips. "Surprised? Didn't see this coming, did you?"

Gabrielle nodded emphatically, her eyes sparkling like stars. “This… this is like heaven’s bounty dropping into our laps!”

The sudden fortune left her momentarily overwhelmed. With four Energy Spirals now in her possession, she was just one step away from restoring the nation’s luck and power.

This progress was faster than she could have dreamed.

"One more strand to go," Dustin said, stretching lazily. "The future's looking bright, isn’t it?"

As relief washed over him, he couldn’t help but feel lighter. The mission’s end was finally in sight.

“This is all thanks to you,” Gabrielle said earnestly. “Without your victory, who knows when we would’ve gotten these three Energy Spirals.”

“Don’t mention it.” Dustin shrugged nonchalantly. “You’ve helped me before; I’m just returning the favor.”

Her curiosity suddenly sharpened. “Still, why are there three strands here? Does the forbidden ground of Dragon Tiger Mountain hold a deeper secret?”

Dustin’s playful demeanor shifted, his expression turning serious. "You guessed right. The Heavenly Master told me a secret—beneath the forbidden grounds lies a Dragon Vein. It’s the Vein’s presence that draws in the Dragon's Energy Spirals."

"A Dragon Vein?" Gabrielle’s pupils contracted, her voice trembling. "Are you serious?"

"The Heavenly Master said so himself. I’ve no reason to doubt him," Dustin replied, his tone steady.

Gabrielle’s mind raced as realization dawned. "So that’s it… That’s why, even after the royal Dragon Vein was destroyed, the nation remained stable. The Dragon Vein beneath Dragon Tiger Mountain has been silently sustaining the nation’s fortune all this time!"

Suddenly, her face darkened. "I see it now. I know the Pantheon’ true scheme. Their goal is to use this martial arts tournament as a cover to destroy Dragon Tiger Mountain’s Dragon Vein and steal our nation’s fortune!"

Dustin’s ears twitched at the sound of movement. His expression tightened, and his voice dropped to a whisper. "Someone’s coming. Hide. Now."

Gabrielle nodded and quickly disappeared into the shadows, her figure melding seamlessly with the night.

Dustin’s hand hovered near his blade, ready for what—or who—might come next.

And the highest record of sneaky visits to Dustin room goes to Gabrielle. Not only that I believe with Gabrielle's special status, no one dares to visit her privately except her father and brothers. But Dustin seems to have achieve that record. 😂😂

I guess mostly pantheon people are coming to see him and inquiry about reward too..
But may be moore sister can also equally shameless now thanks to their super shameless father.

One thing I don't know when first world society was introduced it was a great sect, with good great people with even good character including both sister, their father ,vincent but now it's completely opposite.😂😂

It came to my conclusion that Bladeheart was naturally the strongest figure in this novel despite his 3rd in the shaking list. Both on top of him was helped by the dragon vein.

Maybe I'm biased because Bladeheart is one of my favorite characters here.

Maybe I'm biased because Bladeheart is one of my favorite characters here.
well he did kill the number 2 and everyone else who came there that day, and even compared to phantom richards, he may have reached his level towards his death given the intensity of his break through was so intense his existence was undone

Nope, Darkbane can't be...? 🤔😂
why can't Darkbane be? he has done the marriage thing... has done the kids thing... maybe the Mrs isn't doing it for him anymore...

now if you overthink it... this might be the reason why we haven't read anything about Dustin having sex even though he is dating Natasha a beauty on that top 10 list... he been around Gabrielle another top 10 beauty for months now... even slept in the same tent and nothing happened. maybe Gabrielle already knows the truth and is the reason why she is comfortable sleeping in the same tent as Dustin.

think about it... 🤔🤔🤔

CHAPTER 2704: SHADOWS IN THE NIGHT

“Someone’s coming. You should hide,” Dustin said, his sharp senses already picking up faint footsteps outside the door.

The approaching steps were light, and the person’s aura was deeply restrained—clearly a skilled individual.

“Got it.”

Gabrielle nodded, swiftly storing the Dragon's Energy Spirals. Without a sound, she glided out of the window like a shadow, vanishing without a trace.

Just three seconds later, a series of deliberate knocks echoed against the door.

Knock, knock, knock…

“Who is it?” Dustin asked, his voice calm.

“It’s me—Fatin,” came a familiar voice from outside.

Dustin stood, opened the door, and greeted the visitor with a smile. “Ah, Lord Fatin! Please, come in.”

At this hour, Fatin’s visit could only mean that the Pantheon was preparing to act.

“Brother Dustin, congratulations on your victory! I came by to personally celebrate your triumph,” Fatin declared as he stepped inside, showering Dustin with praise. “I watched your match today—truly extraordinary! Beating Billy was a delightful surprise. I knew you wouldn’t disappoint!”

“All thanks to the enhancement potion you gifted me, Lord Fatin. Without it, I couldn’t have stood a chance against Billy,” Dustin replied with deliberate humility.

“Hahaha! So, now you see the benefits of joining the Pantheon, don’t you?” Fatin beamed, his face lighting up with satisfaction. “If we choose to support you, fame and fortune are practically guaranteed! Just remember to serve the Hall well, and you’ll enjoy wealth and prestige beyond imagination.”

“Of course,” Dustin replied, his polite smile unwavering.

“Enough small talk; let’s get down to business.”

Fatin closed the door, sealed the windows, and cast a soundproof barrier before continuing in a lowered voice. “I came to assign you a task. The God-King has made the decision—we’ll be launching a surprise raid on Dragon Tiger Mountain tonight. You’ve been appointed as a team leader, commanding an elite squad to infiltrate the forbidden grounds and retrieve the treasure.”

With Dustin’s abilities, he was more than qualified to lead such a mission.

“Infiltrate the forbidden grounds of Dragon Tiger Mountain?” Dustin frowned slightly. “I’ve heard the place is full of danger, with powerful experts guarding it. I’m not sure I can handle that.”

“Don’t worry. You won’t be acting alone,” Fatin assured him, his tone earnest. “There will be two other elite squads working alongside you. Your team only needs to deal with the experts inside the forbidden grounds. We’ll take care of everyone outside, ensuring nothing gets in your way.”

“In that case, I suppose it’s manageable. But…what exactly is the treasure we’re after?” Dustin asked, his curiosity piqued.

“You’ll find out once you’re inside the forbidden grounds,” Fatin said with a cryptic smile.

“You’re not telling me now?” Dustin’s tone turned exaggeratedly displeased, feigning indignation.

Fatin laughed, wagging a finger like a playful uncle teasing a mischievous nephew. “Patience, Brother Dustin. All in due time!”

Dustin’s smile tightened as he maintained his composure, thoughts churning behind his calm demeanor.

The hall was filled with shadows of secrets and ambition, and the night outside promised only more to come.

CHAPTER 2705: A LEADER CROWNED IN SHADOWS

“It’s not that I won’t tell you; it’s that I don’t know either,” Fatin said calmly, his tone carrying a faint air of mystery. “God-King has planned everything meticulously. Our only job is to follow the steps as instructed. It’s best not to ask too many questions—that’s our rule. I hope you understand, Brother Dustin.”

“Got it. I’ll follow orders,” Dustin replied with a slight nod.

Fatin’s face softened into a smile. “Brother Dustin, it’s getting late. Come with me. You should get to know your teammates.”

“No problem. Lead the way, Lord Fatin,” Dustin said politely, his demeanor respectful but composed.

Without wasting words, Fatin gestured for Dustin to follow. The two men slipped silently into the dark night, their movements ghostlike. Within ten minutes, they arrived at a secluded courtyard—a place Dustin recognized as their previous rendezvous point.

Entering through the gate, they made their way to the assembly hall, where more than a dozen people were already gathered.

Most of them were familiar faces.

There was Gregory Jones, the Immortal of Wine who perpetually dressed like a beggar. He reeked of wine and carelessness but exuded an undeniable aura of strength. Then there was Arman Heller, one of the infamous Twin Killers of Heaven and Earth, known for his unparalleled ruthlessness.

As for the rest, they were no less remarkable—a collection of skilled innate martial artists, each radiating a formidable presence.

Dustin’s gaze landed on Arman, recalling the friction they’d had before. If not for the intervention of others, their previous encounter might have escalated into a full-blown battle.

Fatin raised a hand, his voice cutting through the murmurs. “Everyone, listen up. Now that everyone is here, I’d like to make some introductions.”

Sweeping his eyes over the crowd, he extended an arm toward Dustin, his smile calm but commanding. “This is Mr. Rhys. Some of you may already know him. From this moment on, he will be the captain of your squad. For tonight’s mission, you’ll all act under his command. Understood?”

Before he could finish, a young man with dreadlocks snorted dismissively. “Lord Fatin, surely you’re joking. This kid barely looks old enough to grow a beard. What makes him qualified to lead us? If you ask me, only powerhouses like Senior Arman or Senior Gregory deserve to be our captain.”

The hall went silent for a moment.

Smack!

A resounding slap broke the tension, delivered with unrestrained force. The dreadlocked man staggered, clutching his cheek in shock. “S-Senior Arman! Why did you hit me?”

He looked utterly baffled, like a dog that had been kicked while wagging its tail. Wasn’t he just singing praises for the right people? Why did he end up getting slapped?

“Why?” Arman’s face darkened, his voice thundering with fury. “You blind fool! Do you have any idea who this man is? Mr. Rhys isn’t just some random kid—he’s the champion of today’s martial arts tournament! A grandmaster-level expert! If he’s not qualified to lead, then who the hell is?!”

Spittle flew as Arman berated the young man, his anger palpable. He had seen the final match with his own eyes—Dustin had defeated two top-tier prodigies in succession, claiming the championship in a landslide victory. It was a display of dominance that left even seasoned warriors like him in awe.

When Arman first saw Dustin enter the room, he made sure to keep his head down, praying the younger man wouldn’t hold their past conflict against him. But now, this clueless loudmouth had dragged him into the spotlight, almost burning him alive. Unforgivable!

“What?! He’s that Dustin Rhys?” The dreadlocked man’s face turned ashen, his knees going weak.

Though he hadn’t attended the tournament himself, he had heard the name and the awe-inspiring stories surrounding it. And now, he realized he had just insulted a living legend.

Fear gripped him as he stammered out apologies, his voice trembling. “Mr. Rhys, I-I didn’t mean it! Please forgive my ignorance!”

Inside, he was kicking himself. Not only had he failed to curry favor, but he had also landed himself in hot water. It wasn’t that he had used the wrong technique—it was that he’d tried to pet a tiger, mistaking it for a house cat.

Now, he was doomed.

How come Gregory and Dustin didn't know each other? Or they were acting like strangers.

Inside, he was kicking himself. Not only had he failed to curry favor, but he had also landed himself in hot water. It wasn’t that he had used the wrong technique—it was that he’d tried to pet a tiger, mistaking it for a house cat.

Now, he was doomed.
In order to keep up with the act, Dustin should probably kill this dreadlocked man with a single blow for insulting. Though this might be against his usual demeanour of forgiving such misunderstandings, he will be able to get along better with the bad guys of Pantheon.

If he forgives this guy, I feel there are more chances of suspicion arising amongst the Pantheon against Dustin.

How come Gregory and Dustin didn't know each other? Or they were acting like strangers.
It might be surprising that Dragonmarsh already knew about this pantheon infiltration. It's even possible that Gregory might be ordered by west lucozia since dragon tiger mountain is not their jurisdiction so they can only send a Powerful elite fighter. Since he disappeared after Dustin treated him he must have gotten a mission he is yet to complete. And even if they don't communicate, they can still work in synergy at any time given their relationship and to reduce suspicions, they didn't come together so it's best they work differently.

I don't think that might be a good idea. Before and after recruiting Dustin, the pantheons must have been studying him, his character and personality. If he kills the dreadlocks guy it will actually raise suspicions the pantheons already know him to be a low key guy. But let's see what unfolds

Gentlemen, make sure you get your popcorns 🍿 and ice cream buckets because next week is gonna be a rollercoaster ride of entertainment. I hope it won't be a disappointment.
“Next week”…?
You mean, the next 6 months…(?)
I mean, do you seriously think that the author is going to neatly wrap up this whole story arch in a week or two…?
But anyway, yes, exciting stuff coming up…
