This is my take on an ongoing Chinese novel by an unknown author. I've never been much of a reader when it comes to lengthy novels, but as soon as I delved into this tale, I was hooked like a fanatic. And I can't seem to stop. Unfortunately, the English version I was following only released three chapters a day, and my appetite for the story was insatiable. So, I decided to take matters into my own hands and started translating the Chinese text myself. Along the way, I've tried to inject some context into it because Google's translation tends to be too literal.

I've used different names for characters in my translations since they're a result of my own artistic interpretation. I began my translations from Chapter 967, which was posted in a different discussion thread. My aim is to tackle at least 100 chapters a week. However, as much as I love translating and reading this novel, I make sure to reserve my weekends for my family and friends – they're the ones who matter most to me.

The reason for this new thread is that during my two days off, some talented translators have continued where I left off. Their work is already shared and posted in my previous thread. This is fantastic news for readers looking for weekend reads. To avoid any confusion, I decided to create a new thread where I can upload and continue my translations. I'm doing all of this out of love for the story and the enjoyment I get from the process; it makes me feel like I'm a part of the narrative.

For those who are new to this, the best translations are provided by Muhindi Wa Kuchoma, and they are the work of the legendary translator Marina Vitori.

This is the tale of a prince, a legendary Kirin known as Logan Rhys. His life underwent a dramatic change a decade ago when his mother met a mysterious and untimely demise. Fueled by a relentless pursuit of truth, justice, and vengeance, he abandoned his royal palace and adopted the guise of a commoner, going by the name Dustin Rhys. The once-arrogant young prince transformed into a timid and soft-spoken individual, making him an easy target for bullies.

During these ten years, Logan secretly honed his skills and strength, undergoing a profound transformation. However, a recent divorce from his wife, Dahlia Nicholson, after three years of marriage, coupled with a series of life-altering events, pushed him back into action. Slowly but surely, he began to shed his timid persona, reemerging as the formidable figure he once was.

Join us as we follow the journey of Dustin, or Logan, as he strives to surpass, outmaneuver, and overpower entire armies and kingdoms, all through his own determination and bare hands.

There was a guy who made mention of billy and Dustin using their pure sword skill no spiritual energy or cultivation. I guess he was the only one who was correct in all our prediction although majority had predicted Dustin will win but not how he is going to win.
At this moment the author has clearly defined it to us that Dustin and Billy has the same cultivation level. Now unto the next.

I can confidently bet that you are fresh from reading plenty of chapters in a day. That is why you feel that way. Us who caught up in December thought the same back then, complaining about how everything in the story has shifted but now our complaints are about the number of chapters a day and how we miss Natasha and other ladies in the story. The story is great, sometimes I feel receiving the updates in small doses let's us appreciate it more.

If you disagree with me, don't argue with me 😁😁 I just woke up like 30 minutes ago 😴😁
dont know what to tell you and your confident bet, ive been caught up since when dahila slapped him and his friend died back in the kirin gang times, the story is mostly stale and has only recently begun to pick up its slack and even then its still not at the level it used to be back in its earlier days, honestly at this point i am mostly reading out of obligation to the dustin of those first one thousand chapters and see how his story ends, since it was among the earlier of these novels i picked up

Wonderful end to an intriguing battle. Dustin rightfully earns the crown and will get to choose the dragon spiral energy as has been the plan.

I'm surprised Billy and Dustin are on the same level of cultivation though, I thought Dustin would be ahead.

Now let's see how the Pantheon come in with their secret plan.

Thank you IGGM Junlee (aka 'Jungal2000')
In my previous comment too, I have mentioned that in normal situation both of them have similar cultivation but Dustin can double his power using Rhys technique.

Dustin’s cultivation is enhanced by sky orb while Billy was also in seclusion all this time. He is not a slacker either.

At this time, I believe that the shattering list could see some changes if Dustin or Billy had to fight with guys from upper ranks.

CHAPTER 2694: A DUEL'S UNEXPECTED TWIST

“A draw?”

The announcement sent shockwaves through the crowd.

No one had anticipated this result. In the world of literature, there's no definitive best—but in martial arts, there’s always a winner. That’s the rule. Once the duel begins, a victor must be declared.

Especially in this championship match that had captivated everyone’s attention. A draw? After all this blood and sweat, what was the point?

And then there was the matter of the bets. Without a clear winner, how would the wagers be settled? Would the house take it all?

“A draw is perfect! This is great!”

Abigail, ecstatic, nearly jumped in the air. She had only hoped to take a small cut from the betting fees, enough to enjoy some fine dining afterward. But this? This was beyond her wildest dreams.

It seemed fate had decided to make her rich today.

“Now, let’s hear from the fighters themselves,” Spencer said, turning to Dustin and Billy.

Both combatants had pushed themselves to their absolute limits. Their energy reserves were drained, their spirits spent. Neither had the strength for another prolonged battle.

Moreover, the arena was in shambles, and the protective arrays were in ruins. There simply wasn’t a suitable place to continue the fight.

In this state, a draw seemed like the only logical conclusion.

But Billy wasn’t ready to let go.

“Do you still have the strength for another strike?” he asked, his sharp gaze fixed on Dustin.

“I can manage one more,” Dustin replied honestly. His last attack, the Army Braker Strike, had consumed all of his spiritual energy. What he had left was just enough for a single move.

“Same here,” Billy admitted, wiping the blood from the corner of his mouth. “But ending it here? That doesn’t sit well with me. We’ve come this far—there must be a winner. So how about this? No spiritual energy, no cultivation. Just pure swordsmanship. Let’s see who’s truly the better swordsman.”

Dustin gave a slight nod. “Sounds fair.”

Without the protective arrays or arena boundaries, another all-out clash could cause catastrophic collateral damage. A contest of swordsmanship, however, would eliminate that risk.

“Then it’s settled,” Billy declared. “We’ll fight again, but this time, no cultivation. Just skill.”

Spencer raised a brow, glancing at the sect leaders for their input. Seeing no objections, she announced, “Very well. Proceed.”

Relief washed over the crowd. A draw wouldn’t have satisfied anyone—not the spectators, not the bettors. But a duel of pure skill? That was a solution everyone could stand behind.

“Get ready,” Billy said, gripping his Underworld Sword tightly. The blade’s tip pointed straight at Dustin, as if cutting through the air itself.

Dustin, saying nothing, raised his Dragon Sparrow Sword in reply.

For a moment, the two warriors stood frozen, their eyes locked in unflinching focus. Then, as if by an unspoken signal, they moved.

No spiritual energy. No supernatural enhancements. Just raw strength and speed.

They were like shadows, blurring through the battlefield ruins, their blades clashing in a symphony of steel.

“Clang! Clang! Clang!”

The sound of their swords echoed across the devastated arena. The fight wasn’t just about skill—it was a testament to their unwavering determination.

And the crowd, holding its collective breath, couldn’t look away.

CHAPTER 2695: A CLASH OF BLADES

Let me take you to a moment where the air itself felt alive. The sound of metal clashing rang out, sparks flying in every direction. The scene? Two warriors locked in a fierce battle, their movements so swift and intertwined that it was impossible to distinguish who was who.

Even without using their full power, the raw force of their strikes sent shockwaves rippling outward, like water waves radiating from a single drop. Those watching from afar felt their hearts pounding in fear—just being near this battle made them feel as if they could be torn to shreds in an instant.

For minutes, the two fought relentlessly, neither giving an inch. And then—silence. Their figures stopped.

One warrior, Billy, had his sword lodged deep into his opponent’s shoulder. Blood seeped out, painting a picture of what seemed to be his victory.

The spectators behind Billy erupted in cheers. “He’s won!” they cried, certain of the outcome. Those who had placed their bets were either celebrating or mourning their losses.

But the scene was not so clear-cut.

From another angle, the truth emerged: while Billy’s blade had pierced his opponent’s shoulder, Dustin’s sword was embedded in Billy’s chest—a single inch away from fatality. The battle was over, and the true victor was undeniable.

The cheers stopped. A hush fell over the crowd as realization set in.

Billy looked down at the sword in his chest, his expression a mixture of respect and disappointment. He had always believed his mastery of swordsmanship was unmatched. Yet today, he found himself bested by Logan Rhys.

Though their skill levels in cultivation were equal, the edge in technique clearly belonged to Logan. And this loss revealed something Billy hadn’t fully embraced—there was always room for growth.

He lowered his sword, took a step back, and bowed deeply. “Thank you for sparing my life. I concede.”

He wasn’t ashamed. No, Billy wasn’t the type to be broken by a loss. Instead, his eyes lit up with a newfound determination. For him, this was not the end but the beginning of a new journey.

As for Dustin, he returned the bow with equal respect. “You fought well. Thank you for this battle.”

For Dustin, the victory was far from easy. Billy’s mastery over nine flying swords-Grand Heaven Sword Technique had pushed him to his limit. If not for his refined swordsmanship, he might not have emerged victorious.

In the distance, Nolan, one of the elders, sighed. “Ah, I feared this might happen.”

He had always known Billy focused more on refining his sword intent than the technical craft of swordsmanship. Against ordinary opponents, this was more than enough. But against someone like Logan, it was a flaw that could not be ignored.

Yet, this defeat wasn’t entirely bad. Sometimes, a loss ignites a fire far stronger than any victory ever could. And Billy’s fiery determination, born from this moment, would drive him to even greater heights.

After all, “failure is not the end—it’s a foundation for what comes next.”

Quotes to ponder:

  • "Sometimes defeat is the key that unlocks your true potential. It is in losing that we often find the strength to grow."
  • "Defeat is not the worst of failures. Not to have tried is the true failure."
  • "A true warrior is not defined by the victories he achieves, but by the lessons he learns from his defeats."
  • "Every setback is a setup for a greater comeback."
  • "The measure of a fighter lies not in how often he falls, but in how swiftly he rises from defeat."
Nice Quotes.

I wonder if anyone Can make manga of this duel ?

Darkbane will be unhappy because he lost a huge bet. However, he will boast around because Dustin is his sect’s guest elder 😂

I think master junlee intentionally gave us 2 chapters only, so that we can savour this moments. Remember sometimes it's better to take things slow to enjoy it to the fullest (pause).
There has been update of 2 chapters only by the author himself.

I think there will be 2 more chapters later on. Seems like author has started releasing 2 chapters every 2 day.

Those people who enjoyed the match between Bily and Dustin, tell me what so best about it?

I didnt enjoy at all. The end wasnt that great.

The fire of the match was a let down
This match established Dustin as the number one contender, which is the main point of satisfaction. However, the fight details were not vivid enough and didn’t keep us much on tenterhooks.

I didnt get any satsfication from the match. The author didnt intend to put some fire on the last match. The other matches were quite competitive. 👌

SHORT STORY:

“Let me tell you a story about life’s unexpected lessons... and how sometimes, the universe has a strange sense of humor.”

---

I told my wife I was heading to work that morning. My briefcase in hand, tie perfectly knotted—everything looked professional on the outside. But instead of going to the office, I found myself at her best friend's house.

Now, her best friend’s husband? A soldier. And if you’ve ever met a soldier, you’ll know they’re trained for discipline, strategy... and sometimes, unexpected timing.

I had barely settled into the visit when—bam!—the sound of boots marching through the door. Her husband was home.

In a panic, I did what any logical person would do in that moment: I dove under the bed. Heart pounding, breaths shallow. I prayed he wouldn’t look under there.

---

As I hid, he sent his wife off to the market. Phew. Relief washed over me. I thought, “Alright, he’ll leave, and I’ll sneak out.”

But then—plot twist.

The soldier picks up his phone and calls someone. And from under the bed, I hear the unmistakable tone of a man making plans. Plans. He invites another woman over.

Minutes later, she arrives. As I’m lying there, still as a statue, I hear soft laughter and flirtatious whispers. But just as things begin to escalate—knock, knock.

It’s his wife, back from the market earlier than expected. She claims her clothes are stained and insists she needs to change.

Now, the soldier freezes. He knows he can’t open the door with this other woman standing in the middle of the room. His solution? He tells her to hide under the bed.

---

And this is where the universe delivers its punchline.

Under that bed, where I had been holding my breath for dear life, I suddenly find myself face-to-face with the last person I ever expected to see.

My wife.

Our eyes lock. Wide. Shocked. Frozen like two rabbits caught in headlights. The world above us seemed to melt away.

Neither of us said a word. We didn’t need to. The silence spoke volumes.

---

Here’s what I love about this story.

In social gatherings, we call it GET TOGETHER
In mathematics, we call it a simultaneous equation
In Psychology, we call it "what goes around comes around"
In chemistry, we called it chain reaction
In economics, we call it demand and supply
In Physics, we call it nuclear fusion! In agriculture, we call it crop rotation
In English, we call it a coincidence
In government, we call it check and balance
In food and nutrition, we call it a balanced diet

I expected Dustin to win but never expected it by true swordsmanship skills alone. However, thats speak volume of Dustin's profound knowledge and swordmanship! Thanks Immortal Junlee ☺️

Personally I didn't expect the fight to be this close but it makes sense. From reading this fight I'm pretty sure the final battle of this story will be Billy VS Dustin. They will both grow stronger than no. 1. rank Spencer and and have the final clash.

My heart was beating very fast. I was like why would Junlee (aka 'Jungal2000') share this kind of story. Most especially to us. You play too much. As expected of the Immortal's sense of humour

But funny enough that the story has been made up, it's actually a reality in certain part of the world whether it's in the past, present or future. It has exactly happened to someone and as they say nothing is new under the sun it will surely happen again exactly

The video I watched this morning, was a cheating wife and her husband were watching a football match. And there was a goal from the husband fan club but unfortunately it was also the same club for the guy hiding under the bed. Being a football fanatic he couldn't resist leaving under the bed to celebrate. The moment the wife saw him she knew she was finished. But her husband and the guy kept celebrating and giving themselves those complimentary handshakes and hugs during football matches. Until the husband came back to his senses where did this guy come from. And realization dawned upon him.

To be honest, I'm not really much concerned about who won the competition and how the match ended. Ever since Dustin had already avenged his mother. The story should have ended with Dustin finally wedding Natasha or becoming the king of Dragonmarsh. But Its far from it. But then we have the old terrestrial immortal master rumoured to about to ascend the Celestial realm. If it eventually happens then I believe this is actual direction of the novel. I expect to see Dustin also ascending the immortal realm.
So far I believe Dustin is the weakest among all the martial artist in kijiji. John has ability to jump realms, transfer his divine soul to other bodies, celestial beast and celestial immortals as mentors. In fact his bloodline is stronger than Dustin's own being a golden dragon compared to a kirin. And his sword is eventually more powerful than dragon sparrow and naughty 😏. Levi is also powerful than Dustin. He has cultivated with hundreds of dragon veins while Dustin can't cultivate the dragon veins in his possession and also levi can jump into hidden worlds and he also has a technique that can save him from death as long as his body is still intact. Also Charlie is very powerful altho he lacks a strong foundation in martial art giving that he didn't train to get to the level he is but I won't say much about his other powers since we haven't gotten there. These are the only 4 novels I'm following currently.

THE FINAL BATTLE BETWEEN DUSTIN AND BILLY - By Gily

This was no ordinary duel

The ground beneath their feet was etched with arcane symbols, forming a protective ward to shield the spectators from the overwhelming power that was about to be unleashed

On the left side Billy, a formidable warrior, wielded the Underworld Sword, a blade forged in the depths of the abyss, where the light of the living world could never reach.

The sword’s blackened steel seemed to pulse with a life of its own, its hilt wrapped in dark, leathery tendrils that seemed to coil around his hand as if the weapon had its own will. It was a sword of legend, forged by forgotten gods to cleave through not only flesh but the very essence of a soul.

Billy was no ordinary warrior, his reputation had spread far and wide. The Underworld Sword was said to grant him the strength of hundred died warriors, the speed of a darkness, and a fearsome mastery. His presence alone sent chills through even the bravest of men.

Billy's gaze never left his opponent. His grip tightened on the Underworld Sword as a low, guttural growl rumbled in his chest. His eyes, cold and unwavering, locked eyes with Dustin’s, and in that instant, the entire arena seemed to hold its breath.

On the other side, Dustin held the Dragon Sparrow Sword, a weapon forged in the fires of ancient dragon forges, its blade shimmering like molten steel.

But it wasn’t just the sword that made Dustin a threat, his body was marked by the sacred Kirin Tattoos, mystical symbols of power that ran across his skin like veins of lightning. These tattoos were not mere decorations, they were alive, a manifestation of the Kirin spirit within him.

The audience knew that this duel would not just be a clash of weapons and magic, but a battle for the very soul of the land itself.

Billy looked at Dustin, his eyes dark with challenge, and his lips curling into a grim smile. The tension in the air was thick, charged with the weight of what was about to unfold.

"You know the rules, Brat," Billy growled, his hand gripping the hilt of the cursed sword that gleamed in the dim light. "Once this blade is drawn, it demands blood. There’s no turning back now, accept defeat and I shall spare you"

Dustin holding Dragon Sparrow but his posture remained defiant. "You talk too much, Boy,"

"Let’s end this. One strike. You and me” Billy Locked eyes with Dustin Unwavering

“Very well,” Dustin replied, his voice steady as he raised the Dragon Sparrow Sword to his side, its radiant glow cooling but still pulsating with power. “One strike to end this.”

Dustin’s voice erupted like a storm, thundering through the chaos of the battlefield. "Kirin Warrior!"

The Dragon Sparrow Sword in his hands pulsed with life, as though it, too, had answered the call. The Kirin tattoos, alive with the Kirin’s essence, imbued the sword with their power.

Billy, still standing with that smug arrogance, raised his Underworld Sword, shouted “Endless wrath of the damned”. In response to his command, the dark blade shimmered and split apart, fragmenting into nine individual swords, each pulsating with a malevolent energy that felt like the chill of the grave.

Billy struck first

The spectral swords hovered ominously around him, each glowing with an eerie light, dripping with what seemed to be the essence of despair. The air crackled with ancient, foreboding energy, and the shadows grew deeper, intertwining with the weapons that now danced at Billy's command.

“Draw Blood” Billy Commanded

With a flick of his wrist, the spectral swords shot forward like a swarm of angry wasps, each aiming to strike him down with razor-sharp precision. They weren’t just blades, they were extensions of Billy’s will, designed to maim, tear, and consume.

Dustin didn’t flinch. The Kirin tattoos on Dustin’s body began to shift and writhe, responding to his emotions and will, and their energy wrapped around Dustin like a protective aura. It was as if the very spirit of the Kirin, imbuing him with a strength and speed that no mortal could match.

As the swords shot toward him, he moved with the grace of the wind, his movements flowing like water. His instincts and his bond with the Dragon Sparrow Sword guided his every motion, his every counterstrike.

The Dance of Combat:
With a blur of motion, Dustin parried the first spectral sword, the ethereal blade shattering into a cascade of dark smoke as his Dragon Sparrow Sword met it with divine precision. But the remaining swords weren’t finished, they swarmed around him like a deadly swarm of bees, striking from all angles, impossible to track, impossible to avoid.

The first sword came at him from the left, but Dustin spun, his body fluid and controlled, his sword dancing with a skill born from years of mastery. He cut through the spectral blade with ease, sending it spiraling into nothingness.

Before he could even catch his breath, a second sword lunged from above, its edge sharp enough to cleave his head in two. But Dustin was already in motion, rolling backward, his muscles moving like liquid, avoiding the blow by mere inches. His Kirin tattoos rippled with energy, guiding his movements, heightening his senses.

Each strike was met with a swift counter, each attack deflected or avoided with precision. The battlefield became a blur, a dance between light and shadow, life and death, as Dustin’s Dragon Sparrow Sword flashed through the air, cutting through the darkness. But no matter how many of Billy’s swords he destroyed, more kept coming, swirling around him like a storm.

The Kirin’s Awakening:
Dustin could feel the pressure mounting. The swords were relentless, but so was he. With every parry, every dodge, his connection to the Kirin grew stronger. The tattoos on his body began to shift and writhe, their power growing in intensity with each passing second. They were no longer just protective markings, they were alive, responding to his will, wrapping around him like an impenetrable aura.

The air crackled with energy as the Kirin’s spirit infused Dustin with an unstoppable strength and speed. His senses sharpened to supernatural levels, his movements becoming even more fluid, more precise. The Kirin, the divine creature of balance, was now fully awakened within him, its spirit a force of nature itself.

With a roar of defiance, Dustin raised the Dragon Sparrow Sword high, and the Kirin tattoos glowed brighter than ever before. Lightning arced through the air, the storm that had once seemed dormant now rising with fury. The very earth beneath him trembled as the Kirin’s power surged.

"This ends now," Dustin growled.

With a single motion, he leapt into the swarm of spectral swords, his body moving faster than a flash of lightning. Each swing of his Dragon Sparrow Sword cleaved through the darkness, each strike fueled by the Kirin’s spirit. The air around him crackled with the force of a divine storm.

The Final Clash:
The last of Billy’s spectral swords came at him from every direction, but this time, Dustin was ready. With one final, earth-shattering swing, he called upon everything, the strength of the Kirin, the fury of the Dragon Sparrow Sword, and the will of a warrior determined to end this fight once and for all.

"Kirin's Fury! Warrior’s Wrath!" he shouted, his voice resonating with power.

In an instant, the Dragon Sparrow Sword blazed with lightning and fire, its blade glowing brighter than the sun. The Kirin’s power surged through it, releasing a wave of force so powerful it rippled through the very fabric of space. The spectral swords were torn asunder by the sheer force of the strike, their essence disintegrating into the wind.

The impact came faster than Billy could react.

Billy was thrown backward, his eyes wide with disbelief. The Underworld Sword, once his pride, now lay shattered at his feet, and the dark aura surrounding him began to dissipate. The very air around him seemed to recoil from the purity of Dustin’s attack.

Dustin landed lightly on his feet, his sword still crackling with energy, his Kirin tattoos fading slowly but leaving behind an aura of divine power. The battlefield fell silent once again, save for the distant rumble of the storm.

The Aftermath:
Billy staggered, his once-proud stance broken. The shadows that had swarmed him now disappeared, and he stood vulnerable before Dustin, the very embodiment of his shattered pride. The spectral swords, now gone, had been no match for the combined force of Dustin’s will and the Kirin’s Tattoo.

Billy’s expression twisted into a grimace, his lips trembling as he tried to summon more powerbut it was gone. He was left at mercy of Dustin, pleading “Spare my life, you won:”

Dustin stood tall, his breath steady, his Dragon Sparrow Sword at the ready. He had faced the Underworld Sword, the spectral blades, and the dark forces that Billy had wielded. But through it all, he had never lost his focus. He had embraced the power of the Kirin, becoming more than just a warrior, he had become the number One on Whiz List.

The battle was over. Dustin Won
